Barcelona / Catalonia (Spain) We hereby inform you that, from November 1st, 2012, a tax on touristic accommodation stays will come into effect. It will apply to all clients staying in any part of Catalonia and it will be of obligatory application in all 1- to 5-star hotels, tourist apartments, campsite and rural tourism establishments.
As it has been approved by the government of Catalonia, the following costs will apply depending on the type of establishment and location:

The aforementioned rates are per person and night, with a maximum to apply of 7 nights.
This tax is for people under the age of 16 included, and it will have to be paid directly at the hotel during the check in and will never be included in our services.Bologna As of 1st September 2012 the Bologna City Council will introduce a City Tax in addition to the current 10% VAT levies.
Payment of this tax is due by all Guests and it is applicable for stays of a maximum of 5 consecutive days or 5 days during the same month.
The amount of the tax will be calculated per person on a price range basis referred to the nightly price of the room with breakfast (excluding VAT and other additional services):
Range 1 – from Euro 1 to Euro 30.99 – Euro 1.00
Range 2 – from Euro 31.00 to Euro 70.99 – Euro 1.50
Range 3 – from Euro 71.00 to Euro 120.99 – Euro 2.50
Range 4 – from Euro 121.00 to Euro 200.99 – Euro 4.00
Range 5 – from Euro 201.00 – Euro 4.00
Capri Since 01.01.2012 the City of Capri has introduced the tourism tax,
applicable to non-residents staying overnight, for a maximum of 5 consecutive nights.
The terms and conditions related to this measure/tax are the following:
Hotels 4* 4,00 € per person/night.
Owever it does not apply to: children up to 18 years old;
Florence From the 1st of July 2011 the City of Florence will introduce a new city tax.
The cost will be from 1 to 5 EUR per person per night, in correspondance to the category of the hotel (1 EUR in 1* Hotel and so on). The tax must be paid directly to the hotel during the check-out.
Tour leaders, assistants, drivers accompanying groups of tourists are taxable.
Children under the age of ten years are exempt from payment. Genoa From March 1st 2012, the City of Genoa will introduce a new city tax, to be paid directly to hotel during the check-out.
The city tax ammounts to:
5* hotels = 3 euro per person per night
4* hotels = 2 euro per person per night
All other accommodation = 1 euro per person per night
Children under the age of 15 years are exempt from payment. Milan As of September 1, 2012, the Milan City Council is introducing a City tax
The terms and conditions related to this measure/tax are the following:
€3.00 per Person per night for stays in 3-star hotels /
€4.00 per Person per night for stays in 4-star hotels /
€5.00 per Person per night for stays in 5-star hotels.
It is due for the entire stay.
It is also owed even if the accommodation was booked and paid for before September 1, 2012
It is to be settled by the hotel guest directly upon check-out.
Exemptions: Children under 18 years of age.
The above may be subject to change according to Milan City Council amendments. Montecatini Terme From January 1st 2012, the City of Montecatini Terme will introduce a new city tax, to be paid directly to hotel during the check-out.
The city tax ammounts to:
Hotel star Euro per night per person
2* 0,70 Eur // 3* 1,00 Eur // 4* 1,40 Eur // 5* 1,70 Eur
The tax ammount maximum to 7 overnights.
Tour leaders, assistants, drivers accompanying groups of tourists are free.
Children up to 10 y.o. are tax-free.
Reduction of 20% in January and December Naples Since July 1st 2012 the City of Naples has introduced the tourism tax, applicable to non-residents staying overnight, for a maximum of 10 consecutive nights.
The terms and conditions related to this measure/tax are the following:
€1.00 per Person per night for stays in 2-star hotels //
€2.00 per Person per night for stays in 3-star hotels //
€3.00 per Person per night for stays in 4-star hotels //
€4.00 per Person per night for stays in 5-star hotels.
Owever it does not apply to:
- children up to 18 years old;
The tax is payable upon departure at the hotel Padua The City of Padua introduced a new city tax.
The cost will be 3,00 EUR per night per person if staying in 4* and 5* hotel, and 2,00 EUR in hotels of other category. The tax must be paid directly to the hotel during the check-out.
The tax ammount maximum to 5 overnights. Tour leaders, assistants, drivers accompanying groups of tourists are taxable.
Children up to 16 y.o. are tax-free. Rimini Since October 1st 2012 the City of Rimini has introduced the tourism tax, applicable to non-residents staying overnight, for a maximum of 10 consecutive nights.
The terms and conditions related to this measure/tax are the following:
€0.50 per Person per night for stays in 1-star hotels //
€0.70 per Person per night for stays in 2-star hotels //
€1.50 per Person per night for stays in 3-star hotels //
€2.50 per Person per night for stays in 4-star hotels //
€3.00 per Person per night for stays in 5-star hotels. //
Owever it does not apply to:
- children up to 14 years old;
- adults who provide assistance to patients in hospital, maximum one adult per patient;
- adults and/or families, who provide assistance to under age hospitalized patients, maximum two each patient.
The tax is payable upon departure at the hotel
Rome The tax rates are the following:
2 euro per night per person for overnight stays in holiday homes and apartments, 1, 2 or 3 star hotels. 3 euro per night per person for overnight stays in 4 or 5 star hotels
The tax is applicable up to a maximum of 10 consecutive nights.
Children under the age of ten years are exempt from payment. Sorrento From April 1st 2012 Sorrento and Massa Lubrense Council will introduce the City Tax which is payable locally by cash. The cost amounts to € 1.50 per adult over 18 years old per day. Venice City Council of Venice will impose an overnight accommodation tax on tourist services in Venice and on Mainland.
The fee will be paid locally by the guest at check-out.

to children up to 10 yeas old, bus driver and tour guide travelling together with groups of min. 25 paying pax (1 tour guide free every 25 paying guests).Villasimius - Sardinia From July 01, the City of Villasimius will introduce a new city tax, to be paid directly to hotel during the check-out.
The city tax ammounts to:
- 2 EUR per pax per night for 4* hotels and residences or superior
- 1 EUR per pax per night for 1* - 2* - 3* hotels and residences
- 0,50 EUR per pax per night for all non-hotel accommodations (camping, bed & breakfasts, agritourism, apartments...)
